General Description:

This is the Diehl Pre-molded Wing skin kit for the KR-2 series aircraft. This kit eliminates many building steps such as creating spruce ribs from paper templates, gluing foam to the ribs and spars then shaping them by hand and finally glassing over the foam. These wing skins will save you a few hundred hours of construction time on your project, not to mention building a stronger, lighter, cleaner, better looking and more consistent set of wings.

What is included in the kit?

This kit includes 4 panels (A left and right, top and bottom) and the fiberglass ribs you will need to assemble your wings. You will laminate the top and bottom skins onto your already constructed spars. If you have already built your spars to the Rand specifications, you will need to slightly modify them. If not then download our construction manual before building them to ensure they are built to the correct dimensions. The panels come without the ailerons cut out so you have the choice on how large to make them or if you want to add flaps. We are currently working on a split flap kit that will work on these wings.

Construction Method:

The panels are made from aircraft grade fiberglass composite with high density foam cores. Each panel is hand laid and vacuum bag molded to ensure a strong bond between each layer and the high density core structures. Utilizing this construction method we are able to deliver a consistently made part that is as strong and light as possible.

Shipping:

Due to the size of this product, UPS and FedEx can be a bit more expensive than common freight carriers. If you want us to use a common carrier or you want to arrange your own freight, just select the freight option you would prefer when adding it to your cart. Please note that there will be two charges to your account. There will be the charge for the merchandise at the time of purchase and then the freight charges prior to the shipment going out.

Crating Information:

If you planning on picking this product up and do not want us to crate it, then select that option on the order page.

Crating Cost: $150. * Please note that freight will be charged at the time of shipment, unless you are paying by check, then contact us for a quote and include it in your payment.

You can pay by credit card or a certified/cashiers check. If you pay by check, we will hold your position in our production schedule for 5 business days. If payment is not received by the 6th business day, then we will remove your order from our production schedule. Once payment is received we will place your order back into the production line.

Note: Some banks have a maximum daily purchase limit. If you do not know what your maximum purchase limit is, you may have to call your bank and authorize the purchase for larger amounts. The authorization is usually good until midnight of the day you authorize it.
